Student Visa - Australia

Anyone who is not an Australian resident may apply to study in Australia. You must
however, obtain a student visa before you can commence a course of study.

The following brief information is outlined for Student Visas. Please complete our Free Assessment

criteria must be met before you can proceed to the application stage.

Higher Education

This visa is for international students applying to study in Australia and whose main course of study is either;
Bachelor
degree, Associate degree, Graduate certificate, Graduate diploma or a Masters by coursework.

Primary or Secondary school sector

This visa is for international students applying to study in Australia and whose main course of
study is either; a primary school course. a secondary school course, including junior and
senior secondary or an approved secondary school exchange program.

English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS)

For international students who want to study English Language Intensive Courses in Australia. For
courses that lead to a certificate I, II, III or IV or courses that result in no formal Australian award.

Postgraduate Research

This visa is for international students who want to study a Masters degree by research or a Doctoral
degree in Australia. If you are applying for your first student visa, renewing your student visa or
applying to join a family member who is in Australia as a student .

Non-Award

This visa is for international students who want to study  a non-award foundation studies course in Australia:
other full-time course (or components of a course) that does not lead to an Australian award.

AusAid and Defence

A visa designed for international students who are sponsored by AusAID or Defence to study a full-time course of any type.

Student Guardians

International students studying in Australia on a student visa may require a guardian if they are under 18 years of age. There
may also be circumstances where a student over 18 years of age may need a guardian for religious or cultural reasons.
