Temporary Migration Visa - Australia

Australia's temporary residence program provides many options for people wanting to visit Australia temporarily. Temporary visas offer a pathway to a permanent visa. Employer Sponsored 457

This visa is for employers who would like to employ overseas workers to fill nominated skilled positions in Australia. The employer must be lawfully and actively operating a business, (new businesses or business proposals may be considered).

You must be the direct employer, pay a minimum salary and must have a good business record. The sponsorship must
be of benefit to Australia and advance the skills of the existing workforce. Overseas businesses will also be
considered and regional employers may be eligible for concessions.

The potential employee must; be nominated by the employer to fill the vacant position, must be under 45 years of age,
must have skills – qualifications - experience and an employment background which match those required for
the vacant position. If required they must be eligible to be licensed or registered for the nominated position
and must have English language skills. The must also meet the required health and character requirements.

Working Holiday Makers

For people between 18 and 30 years of age wishing to holiday in Australia for up to 12 months. You can work with
each employer for up to six months. Special circumstances exist for the granting of a Second Working Holiday visa.

You must be from either Belgium Canada Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France Germany,
Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan, United Kingdom

You must be outside Australia when you apply. You must not have previously applied for a Working Holiday Visa
and you must have no dependents (either at the time of applying or when you hold the visa).
You must also meet the required health and character requirements

Business Visits

There are a variety of business visas provided for visitors to attend a conference or training session, business
negotiations, an exploratory business visit or establishing a business OR Business (short stay) visa,
Sponsored Business Visitor (short stay) visa -  ETA (Business entrant) visa - APEC Business Travel Card visa.

Labour Agreement (LA)

Labour Agreements provide a pathway to recruit overseas skilled workers where standard visa arrangements do not
meet industry needs. This is formal arrangement to recruit a number of overseas skilled workers. Both temporary
and permanent visas can be granted under the agreement. Agreements are generally effective for 2 to 3 years.

The employer must;
a) have an ongoing requirement to recruit overseas skilled workers for a number of years,
b) demonstrate with evidence of the efforts made to recruit from the local labour market,
c) demonstrate with evidence a willingness to work with the government to improve the training and
    recruitment prospects of Australian workers
d) show a record of commitment to training Australian workers,
e) provide evidence that they are a lawfully operating a business,
f)  provide evidence of a good business record showing compliance with relevant laws and regulations,
g)  Ensure that they are to be the direct employer of the recruited employee.

The position must;
a) be specified in the Labour Agreement,
b) be one of positions included in the Labour Agreement which has not already been filled,
c) the terms and conditions of employment offered are in accordance with the Labour Agreement,
d) the nominated employee is under 45 years of age (exceptions apply)
e) the position nominated requires the qualifications and skills specified in the Labour Agreement.

Special Activities Visas

A range of visas for people to participate in specific professional cultural or social activities in Australia, or to receive medical treatment in Australia.These visas are; Distinguished Talent, Domestic Worker, Exchange, Entertainment, Foreign Government Agency, Medical Treatment, Media and Film staff, Religious Worker, Retirement, Special Programs, Visiting Academic.
